"Religious Professionals in the Contemporary World"
CALL FOR PAPERS
The study day aims to explore the significance and role of religious professionals
or 'specialists' in the contemporary world. Papers are invited on a range
of themes, such as:
To what extent are religious specialists 'professional'?
How, if at all, do religious professionals exercise authority or influence
in modern society?
How are the roles of religious specialists changing in minority contexts?
What is the significance of the increasing role of women as religious
professionals?
How effective is the training of contemporary religious specialists?
The theme is to be interpreted widely and contributions of full papers
as well as shorter 'work in progress' papers would be welcome.
