The Concept of Popular Culture According to the Libertation Theology
por Maria de Lourdes Beldi de Alcântara

The Mass of a Land without Evil.

Overture

Everybody -on the behalf of all the peoples' father - Maíra of everything

On the behalf of the Son,

Who made all men brothers,

In the blood mixed with all bloods,

On the behalf of the Liberation alliance.

On the behalf of all culture enlightement. On the behalf of love which is in all love.

On the behalf of the Land without Evil,

Lost in the profit, won in the sorrow, on the behalf of the vanquished Death, on the behalf of Life, we sing , Lord!

Communion

Everybody - celebrating Lord's Easter,

Let's sing the victory

Of all human kind.

Tribes from all over the earth,

People of all ages.In Lord's flesh

For this we partake all the Fight.

For this we partake all the blood.

For this we partake all the search,

Of a Land without Evil.

Let's get free from the first slavery,

Singing the passage

Singing we cross

A new Red Sea, Red of Your blood.

Singing we partake

The bread of Freedom.

Singing we share

The wine of Brotherhood.

Singing we go on looking for

A land without Evil

Celebrating Lord's Easter...

Final Compromise

(...) Everybody

United in the Memory

Of Lord's Easter

We come back to History

With a major obligation.

United in the memory

Of old slavery.

We swore the Victory

In the new slavery

America, Ameríndia, still Passion:

One day your death

Will have ressurection!

The Easter we eat

Feed us with the time to come.

We will be your peoples

The people who are to come.

The poor of this earth

We want to invent, this Land without Evil

That comes each morning. Uirás always looking for

A Land that will come...

Maíra in the origins.

At the end, Mare-tha.

This way, Liberation Theology catholic imaginary rescues and incorporates in its discourse elements capable of identifying it and regionalyzing it with the different countries of Latin and Central America always using the popular culture symbols in order to obtain identification, with the clear political and economic intention of not losing the telluric and spiritual power.
